It’s not just about the workout. It’s about having the right support around you.

Starting or restarting your fitness journey can be exciting, but it can also be difficult to know where to begin.

There are thousands of workouts online, endless opinions about the “best” way to train and plenty of conflicting advice about exercise, nutrition and getting results.

The right personal trainer can cut through all of that.

At Dean Marchant Personal Training (DMPT), I believe personal training should give you more than someone counting your reps. It’s about having the knowledge, guidance, structure and accountability to help you train with purpose and keep moving forward.

A Programme Built Around You

One of the biggest advantages of personal training is that your programme is designed around you.

Your goals, fitness level, experience, preferences, lifestyle and available time all matter.

You might want to become stronger, improve your fitness, change your body composition, improve your mobility, build confidence or simply feel healthier and more capable.

Whatever your goal, your training should reflect it.

Rather than giving everyone the same programme, I adapt your training to where you are now and where you want to go.

Knowing What to Do — and Why

Walking into a gym without a plan can be overwhelming.

What exercises should you do? How many sets and repetitions? How much weight should you use? When should you increase the difficulty? What if something doesn’t feel right?

Having a personal trainer means you don’t have to figure all of that out yourself.

I’ll guide you through your sessions, explain what you’re doing and why, help you develop good technique and make sure your training continues to challenge you appropriately.

The aim isn’t simply to make your workouts harder.

It’s to make them more effective.

Accountability That Keeps You Moving

Knowing what you should do is one thing. Actually doing it consistently is another.

Life gets busy. Motivation comes and goes. It’s easy to put a workout off when nobody is expecting you to turn up.

That’s where accountability can make a huge difference.

Having regular sessions creates structure and gives you someone who knows your goals, understands your progress and can help keep you moving forward when motivation isn’t at its highest.

And accountability isn’t about being judged if you miss a session or have a difficult week.

It’s about having someone in your corner who helps you get back on track.

Training That Evolves With You

Your training shouldn’t stay the same forever.

As you become stronger, fitter and more confident, your programme needs to develop too.

I’ll monitor how you’re progressing and make changes when necessary — whether that’s increasing the challenge, introducing new exercises, changing the structure of a session or adapting your training to fit what’s happening in your life.

Sometimes progression means doing more.

Sometimes it means doing something differently.

And sometimes the smartest thing you can do is take a step back before moving forward again.

Building Confidence Alongside Fitness

For many people, the biggest change isn’t something that can be measured on a set of scales.

It’s confidence.

Confidence to walk into a gym. Confidence to lift a heavier weight. Confidence to try something new. Confidence in your own ability.

Seeing yourself become stronger and more capable can have a positive impact far beyond your training sessions.

That’s one of the things I enjoy most about personal training — seeing clients achieve things they weren’t sure they could do.

It’s About More Than Exercise

Exercise is a big part of getting fitter, but it isn’t the whole picture.

Recovery, nutrition, sleep, lifestyle and consistency can all influence how you feel and how well you progress.

That’s why I aim to provide guidance beyond the workout itself, helping you understand the habits and choices that can support your goals.

You don’t need to be perfect.

You need an approach that you can actually maintain.

Personal Training That Fits Around Your Life

Everyone has different commitments and different demands on their time.

That’s why DMPT offers different ways to train depending on what works best for you.

You can train with me 1-to-1, train with a partner through 2-to-1 training, or work with me remotely through the DMPT app.

The important thing is finding an approach that gives you the right combination of structure, flexibility, support and accountability.

The Right Trainer Should Help You Become More Independent

Ultimately, my goal isn’t for you to rely on me forever.

It’s to give you the knowledge, confidence and understanding to take ownership of your fitness.

I want you to understand how to train effectively, how to make sensible choices and how to keep progressing long after a particular programme has finished.

That’s what I believe good personal training should do.

Your Journey Starts With One Step

You don’t need to be fit before you start personal training.

You don’t need to know exactly what you’re doing.

And you certainly don’t need to have everything figured out.

That’s what the coaching is there for.

Whether you’re starting from scratch, getting back into exercise or looking to take your training to the next level, the right approach can make the journey more enjoyable, more structured and far more achievable.

Your goals. Your training. Your journey.

That’s the DMPT approach.
